What’s up friends? This week is going by just as fast as the last.
Here’s what was up over the last week.
WHAT WE DID
I knew I wanted to do something special on the night of the Super Full Moon being in Leo and all. In fact, the full moon was in Leo and the sun in Aquarius. Leo Moon is about self-empowerment and creativity and expression. Yes, I’m working towards all of it right now. My birth chart is the exact opposite. Moon in Aquarius and Sun in Leo. I figured that’s got to mean something (I have no idea what) so I should really do something amazing for the evening. The family and I decided to take in the full moon at the beach. It was blissful and insightful, I received a plethora of clarity in that hour. The Universe is funny that way! My husband captured a cool shot of us; I can’t get enough of moments like these lately.
Quiet, stillness, reflection, togetherness, gratefulness.
WHAT I’M INTO RIGHT NOW
Reiki! I can’t explain it but it warms my heart. I tried it at the beginning of the school year because I was filled with anxiety and not really happy with the way my life was going. Big, fat mess of pent up emotions and uncertainty. I think we’ve all experienced that one time or another. The first time I tried Reiki the practitioners energy and mine just didn’t click. I felt nothing, no change what-so-ever. I might have had a moment where I thought I was heading towards getting emotional but nope, nothing.
Then on a whim-five months later-I thought eh, let’s try this again with someone new. The stars aligned perfectly when I found my new Reiki therapist. I could feel the energy radiating throughout my entire body. She picked up on the exact things that were troubling me at that very moment. Apparently, I’m not super tainted at this point in time so she suggested going not more than once a month. I feel like I’m finally in a pretty happy and positive place. Life is good and I’m thankful for every minute. That’s the difference.
WHAT IS REIKI
Incase you didn’t know, here is the Cliff Notes version.
- Rei ki- a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
- Reiki is a form of alternative medicine developed in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui.
WHAT I’M LOVING
Valentines is next week! Do you have any special plans? It’s my tradition to make the kids a heart shaped pizza but this year we’re shaking it up and making pancakes instead. I’ll admit there hasn’t been much sugar in this house since I started the Whole 30 so this is my way of making it up to them. Normally they are pretty healthy eaters but we have to have some sugar once in awhile.
So now that I let my freak flag fly, tell me about your week?
Also, I’m laying the groundwork for a new linkup called “Coffee Talk”. If any of you are interested in co-hosting or making it a monthly linkup partnership on your calendar, message me at email@example.com . It will be filled with both deep and lighthearted conversations. It will only be hosted once a month but we’ll keep it open for the entire month.
