We are loving the Hello Penny Bar! How fantastic is this 1946 vintage trailer that has been fully restored into a mobile bar servicing southern California. Inspired to have a mobile bar at their own wedding Scott and Gabby couldn’t find anything they really liked so they decided to build it themselves taking just 10 weeks to complete. Incredible!
Great for corporate events, non-profit, retreats, birthdays, anniversaries and weddings. What’s on the menu? They offer Beer, wine, champagne, cocktails, juice bar, sport drinks and a fun backdrop!
If you are in the Southern California area you can reserve Hello Penny Bar. Get a quote today by visiting their website www.hellopennybar.com or email our friends [email protected] for more information.

I recently hosted a small summer brunch for a few friends as sort of a send off to see you when the school year begins. Once the kids are home it’s hard to take out a few hours to chat with friends between family vacations and overall busyness so we saw a small window and went with it.
Entertaining doesn’t have to be difficult. Simple sandwiches, chips, dessert and a refreshing drink is really all you need. This is an especially good menu for summer months when the last thing you want to do is fire up the oven.
The elements of this brunch were just as simple as the menu. I’ve been obsessed with all things blue lately and had been searching for that perfect table cloth to no avail. I actually found the perfect pattern blue and white shower curtain that I scooped up for less than $20. Kinda weird but it also kinda worked and it was exactly what I’d been searching for.
I love Shutterfly for finding unique pillows and artwork. The fun part is that you can create your own art. I included a photo I captured of Kailua Beach with a good reminder to work hard and dream big. The personalized “be patient and kind” is another pillow from Shutterfly. It’s a great addition to the family room.

]]>To kick off the Holiday Season right we hosted a Gingerbread House Party for a few of my kids closest friends. The inspiration for the colors started with our Holiday Cards from Tiny Prints. As I was walking through Target one day the colorful Bottle Brush holiday trees caught my eye and I knew I had a theme to run with!
I initially planned on each child having a Gingerbread House but unfortunately, I had Mom Brain moment and came up two houses short. Which really worked out because you actually need an extra set of hands when putting together one of these houses and the Hawaiian humidity was not our friend. When they say hold the sides together for 15 minutes they mean it. But it added to the fun and chaos so it was totally fine. The Gingerbread Houses each had small packages of candy to add but I decided to include additional candy so that the kids could give their houses a little more personalized character. It was a fun and memorable day!

What better way is there to welcome your guests into your home than with a Hot Cocoa Bar upon arrival. It’s such a fun and festive way to start the Holiday Season off on the right foot. I’ve really been into the Rustic Woodland Theme and thought there couldn’t be a better time to bring this theme to life. When I begin to create a theme for my parties, I always start with one element as my launching point and build the theme from there. The adorable Antler Affair Menu Cards and Arctic Antler Gift labels available at Tiny Prints were what started this creative process.
I simply cleared off a space on the buffet and added a few trees that I found at Target along with a glass jar of cocoa powder, marshmallows and a few condiment bowls full of delish toppings for your guests to choose from. Be sure to prepare a thermos of hot water to make it easy for your guests to prepare on their own.
For our lunch I continued the theme over to the dinner table for the moms and another table for the kiddos. I used more trees along with a layered table setting and let me be honest…paper plates for the children.
I sent each of my guests home with an easy to prepare cocoa party favor along with a red mug and wooden coaster.

]]>My daughter has been completely obsessed with flamingos lately and she recently told me that she wants to host a “Flamingo Party” for my birthday. How sweet is that! Then I remembered that well over a year ago or maybe more I had created this Flamingo Inspiration Party. So it’s a little blast from the past if you’ve already seen it.
I think my sweet daughter may be on to something here. She can go ahead and take off with the flamingo theme. I would gladly swap the birthday cake for lemon bars and a fabulous thematic outfit. This mom now wants a “Flamingo Party!”.
How do you feel about thematic parties for your own birthday?

]]>Getting into Spring full swing here, we’ve been spending a lot of days on our porch drinking those fancy waters Pellegrino and Aqua Panna. Though I don’t drink either one of these waters regularly, I do like to keep a few bottles on hand for company.
Pellegrino is a nice water to have on hand for summer entertaining because it gives your guests the option to doctor it up with their favorite fruit or make a fabulous spritzer. It’s a great base for endless cocktail possibilities. As for the Aqua Panna, let’s be honest…it just looks good paired with a bottle of Pellegrino. Is it better than any other bottled water? Not so much in my opinion.
What drinks do you keep on hand for summer time entertaining?
