Old Navy Sweet Deals

Women’s Vintage Style Gray V-Neck Tee//The Rockstar Mid-rise super skinny//Women’s Brown Animal Canvas Slipon Shoes

The one thing I can always count on by shopping at Old Navy are some of the seriously sweet deals. Above are all of those classic wardrobe staples that really never go out of style (well maybe those animal print canvas shoes have a limited time in the wardrobe). Check out these three items and would you take a look at the prices! That’s what I’m lovin’.

  • Old Navy’s Rockstar jeans are the epitome of comfort at a reasonable price in my opinion which is not always the case for Skinnies.  On sale now for 14.99 and an additional 30% off at checkout bringing the price to  $10.49.
  • It’s all about leopard print and canvas shoes these days. These brown animal print slipons are on sale for an additional 30% off bringing the price to just $17.46.

What are some of your favorite wardrobe staples?

Save or Splurge: Backpack https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/08/save-splurge-backpack.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=save-splurge-backpack https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/08/save-splurge-backpack.html#comments Sat, 23 Aug 2014 19:25:05 +0000 Sherry https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/?p=6198
Save or Splurge

The backpack trend is hot right now and you don’t have to be in school to carry one. Like anything else they come in a wide range of prices you just have to decide what it’s worth to you. Is it a trend that will be around for awhile? Or maybe just a couple season? Unpredictable as most trends are I’ve found a few comparisons for you to decide whether it’s worth the investment or just another fleeting trend.

  • Save on Jigsaw at $175 (which honestly is still quit the investment) or  splurge on Robe d Firenze at $360.
  • Sole Society is one of my favorite stores for shoes and bags at reasonable prices. I actually prefer the save to the splurge on this one, Alexander McQueen or not. $45 vs. $2,095.
  • Save on Forever 21 New Penny backpack at $50 or splurge on Balenciaga Zip Traveler extra small backpack at $1,685. “extra-small” at $1,685. I’ll go with the save.

Are you loving that the backpack is back!? What would you do, save or splurge?

Save or Splurge: The Wrap Dress https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/08/save-or-splurge-the-wrap-dress.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=save-or-splurge-the-wrap-dress https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/08/save-or-splurge-the-wrap-dress.html#comments Sat, 16 Aug 2014 08:00:07 +0000 Sherry https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/?p=6103
The Wrap Dress: Save or Splurge

I’ve recently become obsessed with wrap dresses in particular the iconic Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress. This is a style that is very flattering for many figures making it one of those wardrobe staple must-haves. Not only are they flattering they are also very versatile. This is a dress that can easily be taken from day to night by wearing it with your favorite flats and dressing it up with a great pair of pumps for the evening. You don’t even have to go heavy on the accessories to make a statement the dress alone has just enough eye catching detail.

Although, I’d love a DVF in every pattern and color that isn’t really an option so I set out to find a more budget friendly brand and came across this factory print wrap dress at Banana Republic. It also comes in “Cool Combo” which is very reminiscent of a DVF pattern at a fraction of the price under $90.

Here are a few details on the save vs. splurge in creating two similar looks with the wrap dress.

  • Jessica Adeni Signature black pump at $62 or splurge on a pair of DVF for $325.
  • A fabulous duo tone clutch in red at $63 or Yves Saint Laurent leather purse for a price of $1,450
  • Brooks Brothers hoops under $50 or Hoops at Macy’s $800 on sale right now for under $250.
  • Kamali Kulture Square Cat eyes for $98 or Celine Audry sunglasses for $450.

Bottom line, you can get the entire save outift for the price of the DVF dress.  What would you do, save or splurge on this look?

Save or Splurge: Summer Beach Bag https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/06/save-splurge-summer-beach-bag.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=save-splurge-summer-beach-bag https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/06/save-splurge-summer-beach-bag.html#comments Sat, 14 Jun 2014 04:00:13 +0000 Sherry https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/?p=5713
Summer Beach Bag Save or Splurge

It’s that time of year for beach days and pool parties! You know how I love a great bag but honestly, if it is going to the beach with me, I’ll be sticking on the save side this week.  Because let’s be honest, nothing comes home pretty after a day at the beach. Am I right, or am I right? Here are a few bags I found.

  • Save on a Lulu Guinness canvas ring tote for $30 available at JCP OR the Kate Spade Via Limoni Tourist tote for $243.
  • The Sun N Sand Tuscan natural straw tote could be yours for less than $45 or splurge on Kate Spade’s Via Limoni Aria bag for roughly $245
  • A stripe tote screams it’s beach day! Save on Echo design stripe beach tote for under $60 or splurge on a Tory Burch Tyler straw tote for $175.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Tory Burch and Kate Spade  bags and I feel that they are both great investment pieces but this time around I will stick with the “save” options. Which would you choose?

Save or Splurge: High Heel Sandals https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/06/save-splurge-high-heel-sandals.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=save-splurge-high-heel-sandals https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/06/save-splurge-high-heel-sandals.html#comments Sat, 07 Jun 2014 04:00:08 +0000 Sherry https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/?p=5701
High Heel Sandals

Who doesn’t need a fabulous pair of sandals to go with all of those fabulous summer dresses?? Or shorts for that matter! You can find me on either side of save or splurge when it comes to shoes and bags. I do believe a great quality shoe can walk you many miles but there are also those fun shoes that are on the affordable side that work just as well at making a statement. If I’m going to be on the splurge side I always go for something that will withstand the test of time, like neutrals and black…they never go out of style. As for the floral and leopard pattern shoes I’m a bit more cautious and tend to stick with the save side since there is a great chance that trend may not be sticking around for the long haul.

These are a few pairs of high heel sandals that I found today.

  • You can always count on Steve Madden to bring home a fashionable and trendy shoe at a decent price. These neutral two strap heels come with a price tag of around $80. OR spend more on a pair of Barney’s New York Criss Cross ankle sandals at a price of $450. They are cute…but….are they really $450 cute? The choice is yours. Personally if they were closer to a two strap heel I’d be more inclined (I mean if I had endless amounts of cash lying around…which I don’t) to spend that kind of money because they would be a little more versatile and not quite so trendy.
  • Again, Steve Maddens at $80 OR Gianvito Rossi for anywhere from $700-900 range. Yikes. Going to go with the save on this one.
  • Girls! Steve Madden just never fails to deliver. These floral beauties have a sale price of about $60 OR Ivanka Trump for about $120. Which isn’t a huge difference but you could probably grab the Steve Madden sandals and a great pair of flip flops for the price of Ivanka Trump’s floral shoe.

What would do you do? Save or Splurge?

D’Orsay Flat: Save or Splurge https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/03/dorsay-flat-save-splurge.html?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=dorsay-flat-save-splurge https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/2014/03/dorsay-flat-save-splurge.html#comments Sun, 16 Mar 2014 04:00:27 +0000 Sherry https://www.thelifeofthepartyblog.com/?p=4778
D'Orsay Flat

Everyone is wearing them! The D’Orsay, otherwise known as the two-piece flat seems to be taking over the ballet flat trend. Here are a few of my favorites both affordable and a bit on the expensive side. I personally would go for the save on this one.

  • Save with Steve Madden at $80 or make it a big investment with these Jenni Kayne flats at $598, ouch!
  • Nine West always has fashionable and affordable shoes, at just $30 you can definitely feel good about joining in on the trend. If you think this is a shoe that will be around for awhile, invest in a pair of Tory Burch Viv flats
  • Aldo at $70 or again the Viv flat
  • I love the combination of coral an snake skin in these Ted Baker flats. Even though they are on the save side I would still consider this a big investment at $155. Is it worth it? mmm…you would really have to love the trend in my opinion and if you do, you might like the 10 Crosby Derek Lam flats at $275.

Make a Statement: Save or Splurge

A white v-neck tee and a pair of cut off shorts are the two inexpensive wardrobe staples that you must own. Given the endless possibilities for making a fashion statement with a plain white tee alone is worth the small investment. Today I’m sharing two ways to dress up this basic look with a statement necklace and a pair of leopard print flats.

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up so why not add some green to the look, it’s your choice, save or splurge. For $150 you can splurge on this J. Crew Mint Spike necklace or save on the affordable Bauble Bar Neon Totem Collar for only $34. The shoes I’ve chosen for both of these looks come with a drastic price difference. Gianvito Rossi Pony Hair leopard ballet flats could be yours for a whopping $698.00 or save with a pair of Steve Madden Elusion flats for $79.

Save or Splurge Black Bag

Tory Burch black purse / Topshop hobo handbag / Mango black purse / Marc by Marc Jacobs black purse / Zara leather handbag

I’ve been on the search for a black bag for awhile now.  Which brings me to investing in a bag. I’ve always been okay spending a little more on a good quality hand bag. If you purchase a classic style, it’s something that will be in your wardrobe for years to come and suddenly that sticker shock will subside.

I’m always very methodical when selecting my handbags. I never impulse shop because for myself that almost never works out. In the past I’ve invested in only white and black high-end brand names because I truly feel that they will get the best workout of all of your accessories.  Here are a few that have caught my eye as well as a “save” option. Tell us what you think?

  • Splurge on Marc Jacobs or Save on Topshop hinged hobo bag
  • Splurge on Tory Burch or Save on Mango
  • Splurge on Celine Paris or Save on Zara
