Honey Bee Turns Three!

For my daughter’s 3rd Birthday I decided to do a “Our Honey Bee is Turning Three” themed party. I found so many great shops on Etsy to help with the process. The favor tags and cupcake toppers by Inkspot Workshop on Etsy https://www.etsy.com/people/InkspotWorkshop?ref=ls_profile were fantastic and started the entire theme.

The cupcake stand was purchased at Target and cupcake toppers again, were created by Inkstop Workshop and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the design. Living in Hawaii we often have a hard time finding all the supplies we need so I reached out to Etsy for help…imagine that! I purchased the cupcake wrappers from Olivias Paper Shoppe https://www.etsy.com/transaction/34632609. To add a little bit of color I added the bumble and flower embelishments to the cupcake stand.

Luckily for me my sister-in-law is an Avon lady. We found these great tubes of lotion for under $2.00 a piece.

Polka Dot gift bags were purchased at Target.

To follow will be a close-up of the Bumble Bee Birthday Banner created by Party Parade on Etsy. If you get a chance check out her store…lots of cute toppers and banners to choose from https://www.etsy.com/people/PartyParade?ref=ls_profile.

I was extremely excited that one of my favorite designers featured this party on her blog.

Elephant Baby Shower

Here is an adorable gift basket my friend Jennifer the Co-host made for Nancy. Almost everything in it is handmade by her. The burp clothes, a onsie with an elephant appliqued on it. So cute!!

Jennifer also made these peanut favors.

Peter Rabbit Diaper Cake

Making Diaper Cakes for showers is so much fun. It is such a personal touch and the best thing is that mommy can use absolutely everything that the cake is made of. You don’t even have to wrap it. As I’ve said before as much as I love planning parties, wrapping is my least favorite thing to do.

This particular cake was a collaborative shopping effort by a friend and myself. It consists of one pack of Pampers size 1. Bibs ordered on Etsy that came with 2-bibs; 3-burp clothes. Also purchased from Etsy were the buttons used in the center of the ribbon. The ribbon was purchased through Ben Franklin and Stampin’ Up. The hostess of the party was able to find Peter Rabbit through Barnes and Noble. One pack of pacifiers.

Because I had a few items left over after the cake was completed I was able to make this bunny in a basket with the Burt’s Bee’s Shampoo and Conditioner along with the larger Peter Rabbit stuffed animal.

  • To create the diaper cake I use 1 pkg of Pampers diapers and roll each diaper and secured with a rubber band.
  • I then carefully arrange my first layer (You can make this as big or small as you would like). I secure the first layer with a piece of string.
  • Same for the second layer making it a little smaller than the first and onto the top layer being the smallest
  • To cover the unsightly string I then put three different colored ribbons that matched the color of the burp clothes and bibs. Adding the bib over the ribbon and then I tied a yellow ribbon to keep the bib in place.
  • The second layer I again used theree ribbons. I actually hot glued the ribbon together since it provided a little more security. Then made two separate tied ribbons and added a Peter Rabbit Button to give it more detail since this layer didn’t have a burp cloth or bib.
  • For the last layer I used one ribbon and again used the glue gun to secure it. Laid the bib over the top and tied with another ribbon. I also add two tied ribbons to the side to give it more detail and then topped the cake with Peter Rabbit.
