Save or Splurge: The Black Bag

Save or Splurge Black Bag

Tory Burch black purse / Topshop hobo handbag / Mango black purse / Marc by Marc Jacobs black purse / Zara leather handbag

I’ve been on the search for a black bag for awhile now.  Which brings me to investing in a bag. I’ve always been okay spending a little more on a good quality hand bag. If you purchase a classic style, it’s something that will be in your wardrobe for years to come and suddenly that sticker shock will subside.

I’m always very methodical when selecting my handbags. I never impulse shop because for myself that almost never works out. In the past I’ve invested in only white and black high-end brand names because I truly feel that they will get the best workout of all of your accessories.  Here are a few that have caught my eye as well as a “save” option. Tell us what you think?

  • Splurge on Marc Jacobs or Save on Topshop hinged hobo bag
  • Splurge on Tory Burch or Save on Mango
  • Splurge on Celine Paris or Save on Zara

Save or Splurge: The Ankle Boot

Save or Splurge

Rag & Bone leather ankle booties, $640 / Steve Madden platform booties / Sole Society short boots / Shoe Republic platform booties

Happy Sunday! I hope you all have had a relaxing weekend. Well it turns out, I’m still obsessing over the Rag & Bone Newberry ankle boot in tan. Remember Friday Favorites?  I still can’t wrap my head or wallet around that price tag so I found a pair of Sole Society, Julianne Hough Vivienne ankle boots that I believe would suffice.

I’ve also been shopping around for a black ankle boots and I like both the save and the splurge in this color.  For myself I think I’d lean towards the splurge with the Steve Madden bootie this time.  I like the fact that they are a little more simplistic than the Shoe Republic boots.

For the Love of Faux Fur & Leather

This Sunday’s Save or Splurge falls somewhere in between.  The trend of faux fur and leather is all over the scene right now…excluding Hawaii of course. There is always an exclusion for Hawaii but I won’t get into that today. The fur vests I found today are both under $100 which I find to be very reasonable since it does add quite the statement to any boring outfit. The pants on the other hand are both a splurge, but if it’s the look of the vests you like you could easily swap those pants out for an inexpensive pair of colored skinnies and a black pair of faux leather at Forever 21 and still achieve the same look.
