Looking forward to a beach getaway for Spring Break? It has been quite the long winter for many. I read the news! Burr! Truthfully Hawaii hasn’t been all that warm lately either…err…not as warm as usual. It’s amazing how fast you get used to those warm breezes and an ever so slight drop in temps can have us breaking out the sweaters and long pants. Boohoo, right?

Well here is my little list of beach favorites today.

What are you packing for Spring Break? Going somewhere warm with a beach?

I’m not sure if it’s the heat we’re experiencing at the moment or what exactly but wardrobe staples like the muscle tee have been a mainstay in my life. They are not only light but also  loose fitting and so easy to dress up!

1. This first look is what has been happening a whole lot in my world lately. The classic cut-off denim shorts along with my Birkenstocks (that I can’t stop talking about). Keeping the jewelry simple with some personalized pieces that are also great for layering with longer necklaces.
2. I love the unexpected when it comes to fashion so look at what a wow factor a pair of leopard pumps can do for a look. Add a fabulous layered necklace like this Stella and Dot Aria pendant necklace and a pair of boyfriend jeans. Warm it up with a black blazer.
3. Effortless chic with a pair of white skinnies and a classic nude pump. Add the Sutton statement necklace to complete the look. This necklace can be worn several different ways all of which would work perfect with this look.
4. Glam it up with a pair of faux leather black pants and again a statement necklace that will really attract some attention. The Pegasus Necklace available at Stella and Dot is one of my favorites right now.

The muscle tee is one of those tops that can transition through all of the seasons by just adding few elements to the look. Like for instance a denim jacket or blazer and throw on your favorite booties or riding boots. These simple additions will effortlessly take this look through the winter months. So go a head, stock up!

Stocking your wardrobe with those outfits that can easily be switched up from a day to night looks are my favorites. Who wants to add to the laundry pile? Am I right?  The Chambray dress is a classic wardrobe staple that will provide these two looks effortlessly.

• Wear the chambray dress and throw on a fun pair of striped Soludos and a fabulous Tory Burch York Tote.
• Switch up the look for a date night by wearing a pair of stiletto sandals and a smaller Tory Burch Robinson tote.

What are some of your favorite wardrobe pieces that offer an easy transition from day to night?

Three ways to wear a muscle tee.

1. Since the tee is already casual of course the best look is to add a pair of boyfriend jeans but glam it up a bit with a pair of leopard flats for added interest.
2. Go extra casual with a pair of cutoffs and Birkenstocks.
3. Give the tee a polished look by adding a pair of faux leather pants and a black pointed toe pumps.

What is your favorite way to wear a muscle tee?

Thanks to my Sister-in-law the muscle tee is my new fashion obsession. Although, no one seems to be calling them “muscle tees”, did I miss something? While shopping around I found several that I’d love to add to the ol’ wardrobe especially this one with the pineapples. It’s all about the pineapple this year! I’ve personally been trending pineapples for years living in Hawaii so this time I was WAY ahead of the trend. These jean shorts and v-neck tee are two summer staples I’m certain most women have gracing their closets. I’ve been all over the casual ensemble these days and this outfit is one of my favorite go-tos. Boring, you say? Maybe a little. Comfortable? Yes!

Birkenstocks have made a comeback but I just wasn’t sure if I was willing to revisit the trend once again, that was until I tried a pair on and remembered how incredibly comfortable they are. Not only that but also, I think women have really updated the fashion statement with these sandals. I’m seeing them worn both casually and a little dressed up. So maybe I’m just drinking the KoolAid too but they are officially on my list.

How do you feel about Birkenstocks?

By just adding a few small but noticeable items to your beach look you can spend the day looking oh so fab while relaxing by the pool (or chasing kids poolside like I will be doing).  I recently came up with a look by J.Crew using their Cove Floral (See Post here) and here they have that same pattern in a twist bandeau top bikini. Considering the pattern in the swim suite I went simple on a Topshop white beach cover and white Tory Burch Ricki flip flop with logo embossed studs. The Kate Spade New York Vita Limoni Aria tote will finish this poolside ensemble. Inexpensive? It is not. But if you are a lover of those brands it may be considered investment pieces for your style since they are of great quality.

What are some of your favorite looks for the beach. Glamming it up with a tunic and trendy beach bag? Or simple tank and surf shorts? Tell us about it?

For the last, I don’t know, eight summers maybe, I’ve broken out the no fail denim jacket. Really, if I think way far back throughout the many trends I’ve joined in on, the denim jacket has graced my closet since the late eighties….yes we are talking nearly three decades…quite literally a trend that will never end. It is one of those versatile pieces that can add so much to any casual look, maxi dresses, white jeans, colored jeans even shorts and pencil skirts. Today I’ve put together a combination of my two favorite patterns. Stripes and leopard, why can’t I get enough of it? Speaking of stripes a great stripe skirt is another one of those wardrobe staples everyone should have in their closets. I paired the skirt with a simple white tee and gave it a little added interest with a fabulous statement necklace.

What are some of your no fail summer staples?

Here is my last push for spring time apparel! Starting next week it is all about summer friends! Last night I went on a quick shopping trip with a friend and all of our five kids under the age of eight….I know…just say it…we are insane! But we survived and enjoyed it even if we only had a few short moments of sanity the entire time.

On the few places we stopped J.Crew was one. I really love the Cove Floral pattern lately, I think it is fabulous for spring but it’s also a great pattern that will take you into the summer months as well.  J.Crew just has that ability to find one great pattern and throw it onto five (or more) pieces; skirt, shorts, shirts, tanks and the list goes on. It usually comes down to…I can’t decide which one I want and I can’t afford them all so ultimately I’ll take the cheaper of all the above.

For this set I’ve paired the Cove Floral with a pair of American Eagle high-rise jeans and a Tory Burch wedge and dome satchel. Since the floral already makes a statement I kept the accessories simple and minimal.
